At Terryville Chevrolet, we believe in giving back to our community — a belief we’ve backed up by donating to more than 20 local charities and nonprofits. Volunteering in Terryville is another great way to give back, and here are three of the many organizations in the area that could use your time.
Plymouth Community Food Pantry
Dedicated to fighting hunger in the Plymouth/Terryville area, the Plymouth Community Food Pantry opens its doors three times a week to members of the community in need of sustenance. A few hours a week, volunteers are needed to help stock and hand out items.
Animal Rescue Foundation
Terryville’s Animal Rescue Foundation is a nonprofit, non-destroy shelter devoted to rescuing and caring for the community’s stray, abandoned, and abused cats and dogs. Volunteers are frequently needed at ARF (get it?) to help feed, clean, and play with the animals.
Miracle League of Connecticut
Located in nearby Bristol, the Miracle League of Connecticut centers its mission on the belief that “every child deserves a chance to play.” This nonprofit gives kids with physical and cognitive challenges a chance to enjoy sports and recreation in a safe, accessible way. Volunteers here can buddy up with a child, help staff special events, or help train new bicycle riders at the annual iCan Bike summer camp.
To learn more, get in touch with one of these organizations and ask how you can help — you’ll be glad you did!

Take a scenic drive in your favorite Chevy to witness the changing leaves, but don’t forget to scope out the Fall Foliage Report to plan your trip.

After years of breathless anticipation, it’s time to feast your eyes on the first-ever mid-engine Corvette. The all-new 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray revealed in July pushes forward the beloved American sports car into a new chapter of excellence. Not only does the new Stingray only use one component from the previous-generation Corvette, but it also enhances power and aerodynamics to the degree that it is now the most powerful entry Corvette ever assembled.
“Corvette has always represented the pinnacle of innovation and boundary-pushing at GM. The traditional front-engine vehicle reached its limits of performance, necessitating the new layout,” said GM President Mark Reuss. “In terms of comfort and fun, it still looks and feels like a Corvette, but drives better than any vehicle in Corvette history. Customers are going to be thrilled with our focus on details and performance across the board.”
The key feature of the 2020 Corvette Stingray is an all-new 6.2-liter LT2 small block V8, which is mounted in the middle of the car and puts out 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. Because of its placement and the aerodynamics of the vehicle proper, the Corvette Stingray is expected to deliver a sub-three-second 0-60 mph time when equipped with the optional Z51 Performance Package.
There’s a lot to take in when it comes to the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. If you’re interested in owning — and with a sub-$60,000 starting price, why wouldn’t you be — check out the Corvette Visualizer tool to build your ‘Vette and reserve the real deal at Terryville Chevrolet.

In the last few years, Chevrolet has been no stranger to resurrecting some of its most popular vehicle nameplates like the recently revived Blazer. Now, Chevrolet is getting ready to reintroduce another classic Chevrolet vehicle name. Starting in 2020, the Chevrolet Trailblazer will make its triumphant return.
The 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer will join the automaker’s growing line of crossovers and SUVs. Positioned between the Chevrolet Trax and the Chevrolet Equinox, the Trailblazer will be an affordable option for drivers who want to access the utility of an SUV.
The Chevrolet Trailblazer will not be lacking in advanced vehicle tech, coming standard with Front Pedestrian Braking, Automatic Emergency Braking and Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning. Drivers can also upgrade the Trailblazer safety suite with tech like Adaptive Cruise Control and Rear Park Assist.
The Trailblazer also doesn’t cut corners when it comes to performance. In fact, the new Trailblazer will debut with an RS trim level, pairing a sporty exterior with an even sportier powertrain.
Unfortunately, additional details surrounding the new Chevrolet Trailblazer are a bit sparse at the moment. More information is sure to be revealed during the upcoming months, and you can read all about that new Trailblazer information right here on the Terryville Chevrolet blog. In addition, you can also contact us today via our website or by phone.
Thanks to a new front-end appearance, a new LT1 V8 performance model, a newly available 10-speed automatic transmission, and tons of other updates coming to the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro, you’ll have even more ways to customize your ride.
The 2020 Camaro SS sports a front end based on the acclaimed Camaro Shock concept model that debuted at the Specialty Equipment Marketing Association show in Las Vegas last year. It’s got a repositioned bowtie emblem as well as a body-color bar between the upper and lower grille. It looks bolder and badder, and you’re going to love it.
The new LT1 V8 is a fusion between the appearance of the Camaro LT and the SS. It boasts a monstrous 455-horsepower LT1 engine, comes in coupe and convertible models, and lets you choose between a six-speed manual transmission and a 10-speed automatic.
Across the entire Camaro lineup, you can express your style with the new Rally Green exterior color, available red seatbelts and kneepads, and alloy pedals. The 2LT now boasts available Adrenaline Red and Ceramic White leather interior options, while the 3LT now comes standard with the 2.0-liter Turbo engine, as well as the Convenience and Lighting package.
The 2020 Camaro lineup will arrive on dealership lots early this fall. When that time comes, you can count on Terryville Chevrolet to get you behind the wheel of a 2020 Chevrolet Camaro.

We’re still eager to learn about the 3.0-liter Duramax® Turbo-Diesel engine that will grace the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Diesel sometime this year.
We’re still eager to learn about the 3.0-liter Duramax® Turbo-Diesel engine that will grace the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 sometime this year. Chevy has thus far been mum on its diesel engine offering — apart from saying that it’ll be the most capable and efficient in the segment — but some experts around the industry have already gotten the scoop on the new Duramax®. What they’re saying shouldn’t come as much of a surprise: It’s great.
Car and Driver’s Joey Capparella writes that the 3.0-liter Duramax® Turbo-Diesel generates 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque according to an official order guide and specs sheet. That puts the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Diesel well ahead of the 250 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque produced by the turbo-diesel of its blue oval-adorned competitor. What’s more, its makes more torque at a lower rpm — 1,500 rpm compared to the competition’s 1,750 rpm.
It’s still not yet known what the 3.0-liter Duramax® Turbo-Diesel will produce in terms of towing, payload, or fuel economy, but it’s a fair bet that it’ll stand up pretty well against its competition in the segment.
The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Diesel will be available soon at Terryville Chevrolet. Watch this space for more information as it comes.
The return of spring means that it’s a great opportunity to get your affairs in order at home with a bit of spring cleaning. Once you’ve pared down your closet and spruced up your yard, take some time out and act on these great spring cleaning tips for your car.
Wash Your Car
Leaving winter debris and road salt residue on your vehicle doesn’t just make it look unsightly, it can also wear down the paint and cause significant problems over time. To avoid this, grab a bucket, soap, and the hose and wash your car when the weather turns warm. Scrub your car down and make sure to hose off the undercarriage to help prevent rust. Finally, dry the car in its entirety with a clean microfiber towel, and stand back to admire the shining result of your hard work.
Clean the Interior
You likely don’t take a lot of time to clean out your car in the winter, which means your floors and upholstery could be littered with leaves, salt, dirt, and even trash you just never got around to cleaning up. Now that warmer weather has arrived, it’s time to clean it all out. Clean out any trash, wash your floor mats, vacuum your carpeting and upholstery, and give all of your interior surfaces a much-needed wipe down.
If your spring cleaning checklist includes getting out of an old car and into a fresh new Chevrolet, we can help you here at Terryville Chevrolet.
At the end of 2018, Chevrolet took a chance and announced that it was going to stop producing many of its passenger cars, including the Impala, Cruze, and Volt. Instead, the American car-maker planned on turning its focus on its crossover and SUV lineup — and it looks like this was a smart move.
Though Chevrolet is seeing a slowdown in sedan sales, Chevy 2018 sales saw a very small decline of 1.4 percent throughout the year. The carmaker sold 549,691 vehicles during the last three months of 2018, delivering a total of 531,985.
The Equinox in particular was popular in the last quarter of 2018 with 98,239 models sold during that time frame. This was an increase of 26.4 percent year-over-year and added to the total 2018 Equinox sales of 332,618 vehicles. With these numbers, the Equinox is considered one of the most popular crossovers in its segment.
Chevrolet also sold 60,633 Suburban models in 2018, which was a 7.3 percent sales increase compared to 2017.
In the pickup truck segment, the Colorado had its best sale year ever with a total of 134,842 models sold — a 19.4% sales growth — while the Silverado held steady with 585,581 trucks sold compared to 585,864 in 2017.
Once you experience one of these great crossovers, SUVs, or trucks firsthand at Terryville Chevrolet, it’ll become clear why they’re so popular with modern American drivers.
